I didn't do a lot of sewing for the last few weeks. My garden had priority and in the evenings I mostly was too tired to do anything else. By the way, something totally unexpected happened last week. I got a beautiful and big flower bouquet from the hospital for which I regularly sew heart pillows for breast cancer patients. This nice and kind way of saying "thank you" then made my day!
In my monthly sewing class, I started to make a quilt with Kaffe Fassett fabrics which a friend chose for her birthdayquilt. I don't know yet what colour she is going to choose for the border. The fabrics are nice but I don't feel at ease with this somehow "wild" mix. Hopefully the future owner of the quilt will like the way we arranged all these various colours..
I was longing for some spots of colour after all these rainy, grey and cold days we had and are still having now. So this baby quilt is on the way to be finished. Although it's a colourful mixture again, I like the simple solids without any design and the "scrappy look" of the quilt.
I am not quite sure about the colour of the binding. Blue, orange, red or yellow? Or all four colours together? What do you think?
