Patchquilt, the Association of Swiss Quilters organized an exposition of traditional quilts which can bee seen till tomorrow Sunday in Solothurn. This naturally was an important reason for me too, to visit this lovely old town.
I made a random selection of all the many beautiful quilts (and of all the pictures I took) in order to give a little representative sample of the creativity of Swiss quilters.
As a beginner in quilting I'm intrigued by the excellent choice of fabric and their color, as well as the pattern which so often bring an astonishing optical effect.
I do not have to mentioned explicitly how much love and diligence was brought into the details of the quite often handquilted pieces.
"Storm at Sea" made in different ways (I remember my recent struggling with this pattern).
Ein grosses Dankeschön an die Organisatorinnen der Ausstellung und allen Quilterinnen ein dickes Kompliment für ihre gezeigten wunderschönen und vielseitigen Kreationen.
A big "thank you" to all the organizing people of this exposition as well as a big compliment to all the quilters who showed us their beautiful and varied creations.
